* ~Using Regular Zips~ *
* May I suggest you download to your "DeskTop." This way you will not lose
your
Zip Download File.
This site...
Outlook Express Stationery from a Musical Mind
....has converted all Zips to Execuitible Zips. The instructions on this page no longer apply to this site. I'm leaving this page up for those who might find it useful somewhere else.

Click this link for those instructions
Now.... You have downloaded some Zip Stationery files from the Internet. You want to start
using
the new stationery but, you are staring at a Zip File and you
haven't a clue
about "what to do next."
To use Outlook Express Stationery successfully you must insert all of
the
various files (3 or more) that make up one stationery example
into your
Outlook Express Stationery Folder.
This is not a difficult skill to master and I've inserted Images to help
guide
you along
Here we go.....
Right click on the Zip file you downloaded and Select
from the list of choices
select "Extract To"
Click on the Plus Sign + beside C: "Your Main Hard Drive" this will turn
the
Plus Sign to a minus - and bring up a series of Cascading
Folders...As shown
by the Blue Arrow in the Image Below.
Next, Click the plus sign before the "Program Files" folder. The Blue Arrow
in
the Image Below points to the correct folder.
Also notice the Red Arrow, this shows the "path" we are building to
your
Target Stationery Folders. The path looks like this
now...
C:\Program Files
Next, scroll on down the list of Folders in your "Program Files" Folder
till
you come to the "Common Files" Folder.
Click the "Plus Sign" before the Common Files folder. Notice again the
Blue
Arrow in the Next Image Below. You are now confronted with
another series of
cascading Folder Files.
The Red Arrow is now showing the continuing "file path" (partially
hidden
because of the text box size) to your Target Stationery
Folders. The path now
looks like this,
C:\Program Files\Common Files
Next Click the plus sign before the "Microsoft Shared" folder. This brings
up
another series of Cascading folders. The Blue Arrow in the Image
below again
points to the correct folder.
The Red Arrow is still indicating the partially hidden path, which if
viewed
fully would look like this
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared
Scroll down the list of Folders in Microsoft Shared till you reach the
Target
"Stationery" Folder.
Left Click Once on the "Stationery" Folder to "HighLight" it, then
following
the Red Arrow in the Image below Click "Extract"
All the files in the Zip will download to the Target ...
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Stationery
Now, open up Outlook Express and your New Stationery is ready for your
use.
After you click "Select Stationery" the Explorer window opens showing
the contents of your stationery directory; choose the stationery you
would like to use (you will see a small preview when you click a
stationery file).
Click "OK" to select the stationery you want and your compose window
will open showing the stationery in the background. It will not be
scrolling at this point.
Type your message as you normally would and send it. If you want to
see it scrolling you can now view it in your "Outbox" (while it's
sending) or in your "Sent" folder after the email has finished
sending.
